Passports

From 31 August 2009

The passport service for British nationals in the Dominican Republic and Haiti will move from Mexico to the UK Passport Service Centre for the Americas and Caribbean in Washington D.C.

From 31 August 2009 passport applications should be sent by courier or registered post directly to:

The passport team in the UK Passport Service Centre for the Americas and the Caribbean aim to issue new passports within 10 working days of receiving the correct supporting documents (excluding transit time).

All the relevant passport forms can be downloaded together with new information on the application process and fees from ukinusa.fco.gov.uk.

In the meantime The British Embassy in Santo Domingo will continue to issue Emergency Passports for people who need to travel quickly.

Paying by credit card

Customers paying by credit card should alert their credit card companies that they will be charged in US Dollars.
